Interracial (premise)

Jessica Hak always felt the need to please her parents and especially her grandfather, a crusty old man who had a tight grip on his family despite having disowned Jessica's mother for not marrying the man that he wanted. However, just when it seems like Jessica will never be truly happy, she meets a kind young man named Duncan who becomes her friend and eventual lover. However, they will have to find a way to deal with outside forces who conspire to tear them apart while leaving Jessica miserable all over again...
