When Franny and her friends end up encountering the mysterious yet creative author, Janet Dismuke, they are thrilled and excited over the possibility of getting to know her given how reclusive she is. However, while she is flattered to see them admire her works, she is reluctant to talk about her past and how it affects her work which makes them wonder as to what happened to her. It isn't until they happen to meet her repeatedly under different circumstances do Franny and her friends finally get through to Janet, they discover a tragic secret that led to her being distant from her family and seek to find a way to help her.
