The first part will be told from the perspective of the shepherds and how they reacted to the sudden sight of the angelic chorus and their eagerness to see the prophesied Savior that they have been waiting for.
The second half will be told from the perspective of the Magi as they travel from the Eastern kingdoms/empires to Bethlehem while also stopping by to meet the old widow Befana who is grieving for her deceased child. Though she doesn't accompany them as she wishes to clean her home, she eventually changes her mind and secretly follows them so she may see what is so important about the Christ Child.
The third half will be told from the perspective of both Befana and the little drummer boy himself, who is named Aaron like the Rankin-Bass version, and how they end up encountering each other. Once they meet the infant Jesus, they are filled with hope and joy while also learning to come to terms with the respective losses in their lives. After the incident, Befana adopts Aaron while also befriending Mary herself and is allowed to be the child's nanny.
The ending will be a distant epilogue that shows what happened to them after Jesus' birth along with his eventual death.
This is one of my few openly Christian stories and one that will focus on Christmas. It will also feature some elements that may have not been explicitly shown in the Bible but at the same time, I wanted to make it realistically, historically and Biblically accurate.
